Tour Program

The first stop of the tour is the Mausoleum of Sheikh Diri Baba, located in the city of Gobustan, near Shamakhi. This is a structure built into the rock where the cave is located, in which Sufi followers lived and prayed. One of these mystics, whose name was Diri Baba, was also buried there. Listening to your professional guide, you will get unforgettable impressions about this place.
The second stop of this tour will be the city of Shamakhi, which was the capital of the state of the Shirvanshahs, which existed for almost 7 centuries. In Shamakhi, you will have the opportunity to taste the famous Shamakhi kutabs - national flat cakes filled with greens of organic origin.
The next stop will be the Juma mosque, built in the 8th century as the first Islamic institution of the Arab caliphate of the Abbasit dynasty for spreading Islam in the Caucasus. This monument of architecture will amaze its visitors with its facade and interior, as well as the ruins of the ancient madrasa (the first Islam school in the region)
The next stop will be the village of Lahij, the way to which lies through the forests and serpentine roads of the Caucasus Mountains. You will have the opportunity to see the breathtaking natural canyon, and you will also stop at the Zernava suspension bridge.

The particular architectural style of Lahija will undoubtedly stun you with its two-storey houses and cobbled streets stretching along the banks of the Girdiman River. Lahij is a real village of craftsmen and artisans who have preserved their traditions and technologies of working on non-ferrous metals (copper, bronze). The magnificent works of Lahij masters on copper dishes were exhibited at the World Exhibition in Vienna in 1873 (Weltausstellung 1873). In Lahij, each quarter has its own unique mosque, which reinforces the impression of guests from the village.
